Hello and thanks for popping in to peruse! First off for your delectation and admiration I am showing off my newly tidies shelves! Yay me :-) I get a sense of satisfaction from seeing everything neat and orderly so I really can't explain (and my husband often asks me) why I can't keep them like that? I guess because then I wouldn't be able to sort it all out again and renew my acquaintance with treasured stash long forgotten. On the desk in front is a Laura Dennison mini book and the mini book I showed you last week just hanging about waiting for something to go in them and two frames from my bedroom that I need to print photos out for.
On my desk this week is the finished treasure chest storage for my WOYWW Anniversary ATCs! I was really pleased with how it turned out and I have plenty of room for more ATCs in the future as you can see! Next up is the remaining pile of layouts (from my shelves). They all need a little something to finish them off so I have put them on my desk so I will get the job done (maybe). There is also a lace die I want to try out, a wooden house still waiting for inspiration to strike, zentangle practice patterns and right at the end (if you get your binoculars out) is a sketch to make a light box for my studio next door and a sketch idea for a tag I want to make for the Tag Tuesday challenge this week. I think you can just about see them. I forgot to mention the hours of fun I had doing the grown up colouring in of a Prima Paintables the 12 x 12 on top of my layouts. To quote Madness - 'Oh what fun I had!
This is another view of my cute little treasure chest (if I say so myself!) I have up loaded a photo tutorial of how to make this if you follow this link or look on my side bar on the left.
Stop chatting now - desks to visit WOYWW folk to see! If you follow this link to Julia's place you can find out for yourself what WOYWW is all about.
To all my esteemed visitors thanks for popping in to visit. WOYWW Hugs to you x
LOVE that treasure chest, its adorable! Trish #75
ReplyDeleteHi Helen, my you have been busy. The treasure chest is super, I love projects like that and will have a go at making one, thanks for the tutorial.
ReplyDeleteIncidentally the birdcage was from a Twiddleybitz kit - I'm not clever like you to design one from scratch.
Happy crafting,
Elaine #33

Ok, that treasure chest rocks and I want one. I peeked at the tutorial. A little intimidated but will put it on my list of "want to try" stuff.
ReplyDeleteNow about that clean room. Love seeing it too. I clean mine and then I make a mess crafting (I tend not to be the neat crafter I wish I were). So back to square one.
Thanks for sharing and oh I have one of those 12x12 Prima paintables and you sure are making me want to find it!!
Have a great day.

Oh that little treasure chest is just devine. Now for a question what is zentangle practice patterns I have never seen one and I have been thinking of doing some Zentangles, still thinking though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and happy crafting this week

Oh I forgot to you shelves look great. As for the weather in Aussie land not everywhere is hot and sunny. Up the top of Aus and across to the west and middle yep a lot, but down south it can get really cold. We do have snow here on our mountains in winter. Canberra is also where Bridget Larsen lives and it is bl...dy cold there at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteBye for now
Eliza
The treasure box is very cool! I just love it. And yes, I squinted and noticed the zentangle practice off on the left.
ReplyDeleteYour desk space looks nice and orderly. I may have to take a photo of my closet before I organize (again). You'd get a good laugh!!!
Thanks for visiting me already!!
Hugs,
Kay #36
Oh I do love to see peoples stash collection, in whatever orderly state, or not, that they may be in. I'm quite the voyeur when it comes to all things crafty, so I lOVe traipsing around as many WOYWW desks as I can :0)

DeleteHi Helen, that little treasure chest is just adorable! And your drawers match your wall! How cute is that! couldn't find your email address on your blog. Just wanted to share what Felecia of ALifeSanctified.com said as she mentioned your comment:
ReplyDelete"I find Helen's comment above interesting. I am good fruit from bad. But it was hard and only by the grace of God was I able to overcome."
Blessings,
Felecia
A treasure chest for woyww ... a clever idea. I really like the colours of your storage drawers. Tidy shelves??? mine all gets shoved into the cupboard and door closed.
ReplyDeleteSandra
Your treasure chest is very, very nifty! You rocked that project! Why can't the papers stay tidy your hubby asks? Well, that would be boring now, wouldn't it? Sometimes I think organizing and pawing through the stash is half the fun.
ReplyDeleteHelen, your post was a positive feast for the eyes this week - those gorgeous drawers, paper, album, and the exquisite little treasure chest to keep all the special WOYWW ATCs in!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment on my blog. Today is the first day I've started to feel better again after a pretty horrendous week - all self-inflicted because I knew I'd suffer serious payback from overdoing it so much recently, but it was worth it because I enjoyed the craft show immensely.
Thank you for your patience over the ATC!! Hope to catch up with myself starting this week!
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #15
You're creative space looks like an art supply store!
ReplyDeleteThose shelfs are brilliant.
That is one cute chest...and what a fantastic to keep the ATC's safe. :D
Apologies for being so late visiting...but I'm glad I came.

Hi Helen!...yes my boxes are from Ikea, but alas they were in the loft as there was no space! They no longer make them, :( I too wanted more but no luck. They do however do something similar, but they are not as deep, will not fit A4 and they more expensive! I love what you have done with yours, they look brill covered in paper! Nice to see another tidy, desk :) I have just about stopped looking at mine, time to get messy!
