Hello everyone out there in WOYWW land! I hope your desks are ready for inspection and full of stuff to rummage through!! I can't believe it is Wednesday again already. I have polished my specs and have my coffee to hand (no biscuits ;-( I am trying to be good).
Desk number one has some pieces ready to make into card sample Number 2 for my Card Class on Friday. Look at those cute flowers we will be making. These strips of cotton remind me of having my hair tied in rags to make ringlets when I was little. I have to say it was never really worth the hair pulling as the ringlets were wound nor the discomfort of finding a way to put your head that was comfortable enough to sleep and then more hair pulling to get the rags out and then for me the result was always........Frizzy ringlets. I think my hair was always that bit too short so there were lots of stray bits of hair and no long Shirley Temple spiral curls!
Desk number 2 has part of my pyramid mini that I am in the middle of filming a video tutorial for. I love those Basic Grey Papers Indie Bloom Papers. I still haven't got item number two in my shop yet but it should be today or tomorrow. I have ended up with 14 tutorials (over 2 hours of tuition). I just kept thinking of different ways to use the patterns and I do like to offer value for money. The worst part is how long videos take to upload to You Tube.......Someone could make a killing working out how to do this quicker! They are taking so long that I am now prepping the pattern and tutorials for this item number 3 to hit my stock!
If you want to see a finished Pyramid then please feel free to follow this link.
I am flying off to visit with you guys and gals now and am looking forward to seeing what you have been up to this week. If you want to do the same then head to Julia's place as she holds all the keys to all the desks in all the world!
See you next week - have a good one X

Happy WOYWW thanks for visiting earlier Helen.. love your flowers, for a minute I thought the finished one was frayed denim. Look forward to seeing what happens next. Have a good week Gill x #50 (was #51 - think one deleted as you are now 52 not 53)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up on the number change! and you are right one of the flowers is frayed denim with a pearl centre and the other is white sheeting that I have frayed and stamped with a button centre. I love making these. x
Deletewhat beautiful papers!! have a good week, Helen 14
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collection of papers... BG always come out with an amazing range. Lovely to see you using them I have a tendency to store them away as they are soooo precious.
ReplyDeleteSandra @81
Love that flower.
ReplyDeleteI so remember those rags, the worst being that I inflicted them onto my two girls as well!!! They went Irish Dancing and at the Feis it became obvious we were English ..... but not for long!!! My girls had lovely long ringlets after a while!!
Hope your WOYWW is going swimmingly Helen. These papers are beautiful, the pyramid looks quite 'Eastery' to me. Not a real word I know, but couldn't find one(s) that fit, haha :0)) Mo x
ReplyDeleteyour desk is full of such lovely colours and I think you are so clever with your videos shame it takes so long to load them.

Hi Helen wow and wow! Wow those flowers are so pretty and WOW that pyramid is spectacular. I think your happy accident that stops the inner wings from lying flat looks superb. Lovely papers and love the hidden book drawer just brilliant. Thanks for your visit happy WOYWW Hugs Mo x
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome pyramid!! And some fabulously colourful papers to boot. Your desks do you proud. Thanks for dropping by, hugs Jenny #103
ReplyDeleteHi Helen - thanks for popping in to see me. Your pyramid box is fabulous - I'm afraid my tunnel book is a little Heath Robinson in comparison! MM x #144
ReplyDeleteHi Helen. I like your flowers. They are a bit different from the usual. My computer is always slow at this time of day, even just uploading a few photos takes forever, but it is better in the morning, (while the children are in school).
ReplyDeleteI love your exploding pyramid. great project. Kate x #72
Your comment made me laugh this morning....my colours matched my beer! I had not noticed but yes, you were right.
ReplyDeleteLove those papers on your desk and your pyramid looks interesting!

ReplyDeleteHi Helen-
ReplyDeleteI am so intrigued by your pyramids...how amazingly cool. And don't you love Anita's work? Wow. So much creativity out there. You stopped by my desk and asked about the decorative strips which are part of the Tim Holtz Sizzix Vintage Lace Die (http://www.inspirationemporium.com/Alterations_c_47-2-3.html). It's a great die because the positive and the negative are equally usable. Thanks for stopping by. I'm off to really study the pyramids!
Brilliant pyramid!!
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy WOYWW, hugs, Di xx #51
Ooooh Helen, I forgot to say - you're naughty for telling me about those templates your friend made for her punches. Guess who's looking at doing similar now the colour swatch is all done - sigh.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fascinating blog you have. I've been tooling around, mesmerized by all the fun stuff I'm seeing. Guess I'll have to become your newest follower because I want to know and see MORE! You write beautifully and your personality comes through so well. Am so glad I discovered you!
ReplyDeleteOh my...now I am off to check out the pyramid...such pretty colors! Happy belated WOYWW! Sue Kment
ReplyDeleteHi Helen, the background stamp you are using is lovely and I do like the 'Tinkerbell' drawing in your more recent post too. I remember friends having rags in their hair to produce ringlets - I was lucky enough to have naturally curly hair so avoided the nightly torture. I spent a stupid few teenage years trying hard to straighten those curls - fancied the Cathy McGowan look back then :) I'm off to see the pyramid now. Elizabeth x #55
ReplyDeletePS: package arrived safely and blogged - many thanks :)
Sorry to be so late, still doing the rounds. Your pyramid is utterly fabulous! I saw too that you won on Simon Says for it too - many congratulations, you so deserve it.... Hugs, Anne x #34
ReplyDeleteHello Helen, I swear I left a visit on here but on coming back for another more recent blog visit I see no comment, sorry I don't know what happened. Anyways, love the pyramid it is looking great, can't wait to see the tutorial on it, I have never uploaded videos to youtube so I don't know how bad it can be, but I am sure the benefit at the end will be worth it.
