WOYWW 171

First of all today I want to thank everyone for their wonderful well wishes to Callum last week.  He is back at school and went to see his fellow gymnasts tonight so he is definitely on the mend.  He has an X-ray on Thursday to make sure all is healing in the right places.  I can't believe it has been two weeks already!

Here is a shot of my very tidy desk (shelves not quite so) with the mini sewing machine I have been playing with this week, my next tag for Tag Tuesday (first stage) and I have hidden the design on another tag with a photo of me and Callum when he was about 4 - bless!  Frames are still not finished and I am no further with the 101 Chemistry course but I have bought a few more bits for some of the lessons!!  So the pile of Tim and Ranger goodies is growing.  Talking of Tim Holtz........

My friend Deb gave me another set of the clear drawers and Hubby put them up for me this weekend.  I have filled them with Tim goodies!  I have taken down most of my tags ready to display them next door.  At the rate I have been making tags lately I will need more space!

And finally I am going to reveal the scariest part of my craft room.  Think deep dark and forgotten space.  Once you are in there you never come out!  Be afraid, Be very afraid........I am thinking I should have showed you this in a couple of weeks time really!

I bet you thought I was going to show you my ironing cupboard!!  But no it is the corner cupboard.  Well it would be if it had doors!!  It is the place where craft stash goes and is never seen again.  One day I really will climb in and pull everything out......one day ;-)

That's it from me my fellow WOYWW desk hoppers.  I am hopping off now to see what deep dark secrets you are going to reveal today!  If you are thinking 'has this bird completely lost the plot?' then you really need to follow this link to see I am not alone!!  There should definitely be a crazy cackling laughter sound effect about now ;-D

    Enjoy your week.

It is a fright right now...

The rest of your room looks fabulous!

  4. What an interesting post Helen. I must have missed you last week (in hospital on the Thursday and visited two days before for other things) as I didn't know about Callum. Poor lad! What a terrible thing to happen, now he is laid up with two arms hurting! Hope he heals quickly.
Love those clear drawers you have, what a lovely gift from your friend.
In my quest to see what had happened to your son I passed some absolutely gorgeous work. I need to go back and spend a bit of time looking at all the posts. Thanks, in advance, for sharing.

  6. I love those tilt out drawers on your pink wall. I am out of wall space, at the moment, or I would have some of those up too! What a lovely LONG work space.

  11. So glad to hear that Callum is on the mend. Fingers crossed the e-ray reveals that is really the case.
I love your bIg workspace and those awesome shelves full of the good stuff.
That corner IS scary isn't it - yikes. Good luck with that - wish I could come help. Have a fab WOYWW :0)

  12. Hee hee, am not quite cackling, but am a little smug about your cupboard, because I have the answer. My saucepan cupboard was like this...just a deep and mangled pile. ANd then one day, Mr Dunnit put a shelf in it for me and it's been perfection ever since. Well, my craft shelves aren't so good, but that deep space needs a shelf to help you! Your work area looks big enough to land a plane on...and I love the irony of the sticky that says 'I need my space'!! Glad to read that Callum is bouncing back...it's the benefit of being young!

  19. Hi there Helen
yes have a spot or two like that in my craft room too sad seriously sad one just stands back and throws rather like the plastics cupboard there you shut the door as quickly as possible but you dont have a door so one day the volcano will erupt you know!!

Yes I can see that you, like me, are clean and tidy except for that ONE area that you just lose the will to live (and tidy) when you look at it. For me, it's by piles o' scraps - I just heap them up and every so often drag them out to make a stack of cards. But overall you look very organized! Be happy with that.

  23. LOL my whole room looks like your one cupboard. I do have the urge to tidy right now but I'm supressing it as I know it will only get messy again before next Wednesday. Great to see where you are working - it looks a lovely room.

  27. Lovely tidy desk and if you hadn't mentioned the shelves who would have noticed :) Your little storage drawers are ideal for Timmy stuff. Courageous of you to show your deep dark space - I can't help thinking that when you do eventually go in you might just unearth crafting treasure :)) Happy WOYWW and I hope you have a lovely week. 30. Your desk is delicious! I love workspaces where you can see everything you have to play with. What a wonderful hubby to put up your clear storages--and I know that one day you will dig into that craft stash corner and, like me, find stuff you forgot you had! Kind of like Christmas all over again! Crafty hugs!

  31. I expect most of us have a 'dark corner' like that if we are honest! The rest of your room looks amazingly organised. Glad to hear your son is getting in to school to be with his mates. I hope he will be able to continue with his gym when it is fully mended.

  32. Glad to hear Callum is on the mend quite nicely. It must be difficult for him to sit out for a bit. But it sounds like he is taking it well.

Thanks for stopping by my desk and leaving such kind words. I really like when people take the time to write something. I really appreciate it.

By the way,shhh...my husband took the photo of me yesterday at my desk. Because in the morning I am in workout clothes running around trying to get the boys out to school.

On to your beautiful desk. I agree with Sandy (above) that the big desks with all the goodies out to see is so inspirational. I think you have enough room for me to come over! Your storage your husband put up are lovely. Again nice because you can see what you have.

Keep crafting and I will catch up with you next week.

  34. Oooo, your TH goodie bins are fantastic. I'd love to get a better peek at your tags, they look great from here!

That corner cabinet looks tricky to use, just because of the shape of the space. Maybe some containers would help.

    Happy Woyww!

  36. My dear mom used to say that every woman has a never, ever cupboard where unfinished projects go to never be seen again. I found hers after she passed away and there was some real gems in there.
Mine I am too ashamed to show, just trust me, it looks far worse than yours.
Glad Callum is on the mend.

  37. Every time I see your "I need my space" bumper sticker I get a big smile on my face. Great to hear that Callum is on the mend. More of those clear bins! How fun! I'm still searching (as most of us probably are) for the best storage solution ever. My walls are cinder block, so no hanging things. How great that you shared your deep dark secret place that no man dare to enter and if they do dare, they will never be seen again. I think we all have an area or space in our craft rooms like that. Someday you will go through it all and you'll find junk you wondered why you saved and wonderful things you forgot about.

  48. Oh my goodness what a grouse hidy hole to store things, it should be called the never never land. LOL Yes everyone has a spot that they use to dump, I even have one. I will show it one day, it is where I dump things whilst doing wicked shifts and it doesn't get sorted until I have slept. LOL So glad to hear your son is on the mend nothing worse when the little ones are ill or in pain.

  50. Helen, you just crack me up sometimes! You're hilarious!

Glad to hear Callum is still doing good, and I hope the x-rays came out well.

We all have those deep dark spaces in our house, don't we? My son was visiting this week from Texas and he had never seen my new craft room, so I cleaned it spotless before he got here. But I won't even tell you what my bedroom closet looks like now from moving things from one room to the next! But at least my craft room looks awesome!!!
