National Scrapbook Day!

Did you know?  I got to know via Facebook and have had a lovely evening scrapbooking along with Big Picture Classes.  They are trying to get 10000 layout pictures on Instagram and are getting everyone to post photos of their layouts as they finish them.

I have done three tonight which is pretty good for me as I usually would only manage one!  I thought I would share this one before I hop into bed.

First I gutted a 12" x 12" page leaving a 1" border.

Next I trimmed the sun sheet to 11 3/4" and adhered it to the grey frame.

Next I cut a 2" strip of the striped paper and edged it with strips of grey and then attached a strip of washi tape that I thought coordinated with my papers.

I attached the strip down the right hand edge of the layout - straighter than in the photo!! ;-)

Next I popped out a couple of tickets and a journalling tag from the die cut sheet.  I found a fabric brad to match my colour scheme.  I mounted my two 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" photos on orange then grey card stock.  I cut a 1 " strip of the hexagon paper and edged it with an orange die cut boarder strip.

I made the strip into a rosette using the fabric brad as a centre.  I attached a tab to the Journaling tag and joined the two tickets together with a gem brad.  I added journalling and cut out my title using Zooballoo lettering at 1" for the word Breakfast and 1 1/4" for the word BBQ.

And here is my finished layout with everything attached.  I created a pocket for my journalling tickets and tag by leaving the top of the photo mat open.  I did add a line of glue so the tags don't slide down too far behind the photos. A touch of bling around the sun and a couple of photo tabs and that was layout 3 complete.

The papers I used were My Mind's Eye Oh La La which I have had for ages!  You could use this layout as a sketch and substitute your coordinating papers and photos.  Hope you are having a fab National Scrapbooking Day.  I am off to bed….Thank you for Popping By x

Scrap That!

Hi everyone,  Today I thought I would share an idea for pretty scraps.  I started out with a couple of lovely papers from My Minds Eye - The Sweetest Thing by Jen Allyson which of course I made a 12" x 12" layout with a couple of weeks ago:

As you can see it is now waiting for a Photograph and a title with an embellishment or two to complete it.

I still wanted to make the most of these pretty papers so I decided to make a complimentary Project Life style page - definitely a great way to use up scraps.  Plenty of room for more photos and journalling.  I am thinking that Black and White Photos will look great against these papers.

As I was tidying up I came across these pages from a couple of weeks ago and I decided to make the most of the small scraps of paper and the embellishments I had left and set too making a card this afternoon.

I thought I might make a patchwork as a background for my card as all my scraps were quite small.

Then I needed a focal point for the card so I pieced together some scraps and use my score board to make a rosette.  Sorry about the slightly mucky score board!

I had these embellishments to play with so…….

One rosette with a cute bumble bee brad was the end result!

I mounted the panel onto a sunny yellow card - Bee Happy!

A little bit of stamping and some more patchworking of the ever decreasing pieces of scrap paper and the finished inside of the card makes this one I will be able to use for lots of occasions.

I hope this gives you some ideas for your smaller scraps of patterned papers.  I am just wondering looking at these photographs wether to do some faux stitching to complement the patchwork effect……..

So what is left? - not much paper but I am going to keep it until I put photos on those layouts…. Just in case!

I have a feeling that there will be a few brads and stickers left over but I know they will come in handy for other projects in the future - feeling very thrifty right now!

G 45 Mother Goose Meets MME Chalk Studio in this lively layout.

This photograph of Callum enjoying himself at the funfair was full of colour and was a little tricky when it came to matching it to the right scrapbooking papers.

I loved the colours of the Graphic 45 Mother Goose Papers and I think that by using them sparingly and incorporating black with a few My Minds Eye Chalk Studio embellishments that the photograph is complimented by the papers rather than overpowered by them.

I had fun trying some hand lettering for my title and I hope you think it works well with the Chalk Studio elements.  A bright and cheerful layout of a fun Summers evening spent enjoying all the colours sounds and tastes of the La Linea fair in Spain.

This fair is sited right on the border with Gibraltar so it was only a short walk from our house and we always had great fun staying up late.  A real fiesta family atmosphere.

Spooky Tags

Is it Monday afternoon already?!!!!  I thought I would post this before I get videoing - it has been a while since I posted on You Tube so I thought I might warm up with a spooky art journal page........or maybe a card......or maybe a spooktacular home decor item........I guess you will have to tune in to find out what I eventually get up too!!!!

I have had a lovely weekend with my crafting friends and I actually did some work.  But don't worry I did fit in plenty of chat and coffee and cake too!!!!  So today I am sharing three Halloween tags that I made with some of my Lost and Found Halloween papers (My Minds Eye).

All the tags have been made with elements from the papers and die cut sheets so they were quick to make and fun to put together.  Today I have added a little glossy accents to the bottles which is still drying as you can see from this photo.  I have added ribbon and some cute halloween pumpkin buttons from my stash.  

This one also has glossy accents drying!  I love all the yummy orange glitter elements in this paper collection.

....and last but not least.....

I think this is my favourite from my trio of tags.  I fussy cut the pumpkins from one of the papers and layered them up for this 3D look.  I painted the images with my Distress Inks.  I am thinking of incorporating my tags in Halloween layouts as I have lots of lovely papers still left to work with.

WOYWW 220

Hi everyone.  I hope all is well in WOYWW land.  I have been missing for a while and just wanted to treat myself to a little crafting company today.  I am looking forward to catching up with you all.

So what is new on my desks???????  Over at the Video desk all is fairly neat and tidy........

I am working on a series of Graphic 45 Tag videos inspired by my latest workshop for my Tag Storage Unit.  You can see the one I made in the tutorial here and it is destined to have a family history of tags stored in it but at the moment it is housing G45 tags from packs of embellishments!!!  Don't count them ;-)

I am going to make a series of tag tutorials featuring all the beautiful collections of Graphic 45 papers (That's the plan anyway!!!).  As you can see I am going to use the packaging!  It would be rude not to when they make them look so pretty.  I was going for a Chinese lacquered look on this side of the tag.

And a totally different feel to the reverse of the tag.  I hope this series of tutorials shows off the beauty and versatility of Graphic 45 papers.  It will turn into a neat record of all the paper collections as they are released.  I think you could apply this idea to other paper manufacturers too.

Over on the neat end of my main desk is something I did at our Crop weekend before last.  Everyone there had Project Life fever and I do like the idea but I love my 12 x 12 layouts too much to give them up.  I thought I would try it out though and have started a pocket page using my latest buy which was the gorgeous My Minds Eye Chalk Board collection.  I fell in love with this collection when it was launched and lucky me my pal Jackie has it in her shop!!!!

I had great fun mixing and matching the papers to fit in the pockets.  I am going to print my photos in Black and White and then embellish a bit more.  I will make a 12 x 12 companion page so I get the best of both worlds.
