Just a quick post before I go out and check if the sky is clear. We have been watching Stargazing live and apparently due to a very large solar flare we may get to see Aurora Borealis here in the UK. I have promised to wake Callum up if I can see anything. It could happen tonight or tomorrow I think they said.
Just thought I would share one of the cards I will be making with my class on Friday. It is made with one of the stamps sets from the Simply Gorjuss Urban Stamps Range.
I really enjoyed the paper piecing combined with colouring in with my water colour pencils (I didn't add the water as the old book paper I used is quite thin. The patterned paper is from French Country by Graphic 45 and it was fun matching the colours to the paper. I even finished off the inside of the card!
I think I like this method of finishing off the card rather than inserting an inner paper. Keeping my fingers crossed my class like the cards and of course that we finish on time!!!! I know, I know……..That would be a miracle. I have a habit of making cards that take a while to complete but my class don't mind the odd bit of homework -luckily for me!! It does mean we can try out lots of different styles and techniques which is alway fun.
Anyway I am off to check the stars so I will wish you all a goodnight and thank you for popping by X
This blog is a record of my creative journey. I love to share my passion for paper crafting so I design projects and then create tutorials and workshops to show you how to make them. Please feel free to wander around to check out all the things I share both here, in my ETSY shop and over on my You Tube channel. Thank you for popping by!

Oh I wish I was in your class!! This card sure is gorjuss! :D
ReplyDeleteI too have been watching stargazing live & hope to see the AB too! It would be so exciting. I saw a wee bit of one last month but it was so fleeting it could almost have been one of those weird flashes one can get when staringinto the dark for a while, haha, but my friend saw it too. My son & I went out to look at Jupiter with binoculars and saw three of it's moons too. Awesome. Generally far too much light pollution around here tho' unfortunately. Fingers crossed for a clear sky :o) xx
We did have a clear sky but no Aurora! My hubby helps me set up the class tables and we took our dog Comet as he just loves it as the village hall is in the grounds of Elvaston Castle. He runs about like a loony as we set up and the we took him up the lane. The moon was really bright but no aurora for us ;-( One happy dog though!! You are welcome in my class any time you are passing Mo - I will be sharing a tutorial for the card shortly though - watch this space x
DeleteI watched stargazing live too, such a shame that we did not get to see the Aurora but I did see a little bit of it live on the One Show which was amazing.
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful, I love using book pages too. Love your stamping and paper piecing and I bet your class will love doing this too! Thanks for your visit, I have not started my tag box yet, still waiting for my chipboard to arrive. Anne x
